Your new puppy's needs.

When you get a new puppy its like getting a new baby. You have to take the best care of it. To take care of it you have to do specific things. In this blog I will tell you what you need to do to raise them.
 First off you need to potty train them and you need to get puppy pads (Lots of freaking puppy pads).
The very first training tip i can give you is that if your dog has an accident that you take them to the puppy pad and make sure that they know that it is the place for them to use the bathroom.
Then you need to set ground rules where they sleep,if they can eat human food ,and if they can be out a lot.
Where they sleep is important if they sleep in an in closed space like a bathroom or a bedroom. If they sleep there their bed will need to be close to their food because they don't like to go and look for their food bowls and were they use the bathroom need to be a couple of feet away.
Then if they can eat human food is important too I do it but some times its not a good idea because they have set times that they usually have to use the bathroom and human food messes up that system.
Your dog needs to be out a lot and they need room to run around so take them out side often or if their an outside dog then keep them in a big space that is closed in.
That was my advice for how to set rules for your dog.

New puppy bathing.

When you get a new puppy they will get messy and get dirty and start to stink. But sometimes its a pain and you don't exactly want to do it but you still have to bathe them. Dogs skin can be very sensitive to some soaps. Hershey's skin was extremely sensitive to any dog shampoo I used so I learned that it is best to not use dog shampoo at all. I used my shampoo and it was fine and I advise to use your shampoo or consult a pet groomer and see what they use or advise.
 When I bathe Hershey I used to use a washcloth and I learned that it is best not to because if you use a washcloth you cant exactly get in those hard to reach places and you cant get all up in their fur and really wash it and scrub it. But with your hands its just like washing your own hair. But with your dogs make sure you get in their fur and try to loosen up any knots in their hair. Also when you bathe them make sure you get all of the soap out of their hair because if you don't it will make their skin break out and get a rash  and be very painful.
 Also when you get to drying them you need to be careful because smaller puppies are tiny and frail and so you don't need to be rough with the drying. Before I got Hershey I had a dog named Prince and I used to dry him with the hair dryer on low and cool and it broke out his skin and then I started drying him with a towel and it worked better. So I advise to use a towel to dry your dog after a bath.
 And after bath time it is a good idea to spray or use the drop packets of flea and tick repellent. You need to make sure that you do that because it could really help your dog not be bit by the little buggers.

How to properly feed your new puppy.

Don't you just love when you get a new puppy?

We all do right?

Alright well they can be really sensitive to some foods and in this post I will tell you what you need to feed them.

When I got Hershey I fed him dry puppy food but I mixed it with a milk protein that would help get big and also it helped with when he got sick be cause it had a antibiotic in it and it helped him stay healthy.

But you can feed them different things and if you don't use the milk protein or mix it with water just make sure its wet food.

But just make sure they have enough because they actually eat a lot.

But don't over feed them because overfeeding can lead to being overweight and can lead to health problems that may make your dogs life span shorter.
